Life is too short to play it safe. No Tomorrow.
Walking somewhere between Park and Lexington Avenues, I saw an advertisement of a new TV series No Tomorrow. The series follows a woman who becomes involved with a free-spirited guy who inspires her to make an “apocalyst”, a list of things to do before the world ends—which he claims will be in eight months and twelve days. With the help of her friends, they try to find out if he can be taken seriously while completing the bucket list.
Although it is a title of comedy series with science fiction elements, we can not agree with the title and slogan. It is yet time to leave a comfort box, abandon a secure life, a predictable life as if tomorrow did not happen. Because tomorrow comes, in theory, but no one really is sure about it.
If you knew that today is the last day and that tomorrow never comes, would you change something in your life? Would you do something that you did not have a courage for or did not have time…? Would you do something what you have postponed all your life…? What would be this day if you knew that tomorrow never comes? And can you imagine to live so present your entire life… every day? To give and be everything? To listen to yourself? And if you just live fully today as if there were no tomorrow?
And then you will wake up already in a different reality, such as you wanted in your life forever…
I know that this viewpoint is not easy. It requires courage, risk, not paying attention to anything and anyone, just listening to your desires and a voice of your inner child. I know that it is easier to write these words than to do what is to do. But… what would you do today for yourself, for your life if there were no tomorrow?
Would you live a absolutely intense, fulfilled life, even for one day? Would you feel the life in an every cell of your body? And if such life is possible every day?
Do not postpone anything. Live today. Here and now.
This is such an important reminder -- myself as well.
